The Underlying Cause of the Iranian/U.S. Conflict: Facts and Fictions

Iran has a well understood geopolitical and economic importance for the U.S., the Middle East and the world. Nasrin will discuss the historical reasons behind the mistrust, and the current situation from the point of view of the Iranians, including her own first-hand observations from her visits to Iran. She will also discuss how the U.S. Government’s actions, based on false, irrational and dangerous propaganda, are having devastating impacts on Iran.

Nasrin Jewel is professor emeritus at St. Catherine University where she taught economics for many years. She has taught and written about issues related to women, the world economic order, poverty and unequal distribution of income, transnational corporations, and the Middle East. She has received many prestigious awards including a Fulbright scholarship and a mid-western universities PhD grant.
