Minnesota Screening of Zero Weeks Documentary

  • University of Minnesota, Room 1-106 Hanson Hall (map)

Minnesotans believe in caring for one another. Yet the vast majority of Minnesotans don’t have access to paid family and medical leave benefits. This means every day, Minnesotans face impossible choices between losing a paycheck or caring for a new child, an aging loved one, or themselves.

Join the Minnesotans for Paid Family and Medical Leave Coalition for a film screening of Zero Weeks. Weaving powerful stories together with insightful interviews with leading policymakers, economists, researchers, and activists—Zero Weeks is a documentary that demonstrates why every worker in our country deserves guaranteed paid leave. The film looks at paid leave from an emotional, medical, financial and global perspective.

We’ll have light snacks and remarks from Gender Justice Advocacy Director Erin Maye Quade, President of AFSCME Local 3800 Cherrene Horazuk, and other special guests. Following the film, meet with advocates from the University of Minnesota and across the Twin Cities working to advance Paid Family and Medical Leave and other gender equity policies, including the University of Minnesota Law School Chapter of If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice.
