  • American Indian Center 1113 East Franklin Avenue Minneapolis, MN, 55404 United States (map)

Saturday, October 26 from 5 to 8 pm
American Indian Center, 1113 E Franklin Ave, Ste 103 in Minneapolis

Join us for an evening of celebration, storytelling, art, and fundraising in support of our BRIDGE Prison Justice Community.

The BRIDGE is a grassroots partnership of currently incarcerated individuals, their families, and Voices for Racial Justice. The group started when Kevin Reese reached out to Voices for Racial Justice's former executive director Vina Kay, after hearing her on the KMOJ radio program Urban Agenda. The two formed a partnership that now includes multiple community organizations working with incarcerated individuals and their families to share their stories of incarceration, develop solutions addressing mass incarceration and re-entry, and to build a stronger bridge from prison to the community.

In August, after 14 years of being incarcerated, Kevin joined our team as our Director of Criminal Justice. His approach in this work is rooted in his mission to end mass incarceration.

Until We Are All Free is a framework uplifted by the BRIDGE that talks about mass incarceration as community incarceration. None of us can be free until we are all free.

This celebration is a reunion to uplift all of those who have been building solutions to end mass incarceration, including those currently or previously incarcerated, their families, and community who care.
