Northfielders Justice for Palestine Book Club will hold its second meeting on the book “It’s Easier to Reach Heaven than the End of the Street: A Jerusalem Memoir” by Dr. Emma Williams. at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec.. 4, 2018, in the Fireside Room at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 500 Third St. W., in Northfield. Future meetings are scheduled for Feb. 5, March 4 and April 2, 2019.
A first-hand account of life by a doctor and mother during the Second Intifada (“uprising”) the book is Dr. Emma Williams’ story of living in Jerusalem during turmoil that arose between Israelis and Palestinians in the summer of 2000.
No prior knowledge of the subject or of the broader issues surrounding Palestine/Israel is necessary, nor is attendance at previous sessions. Anyone willing to learn, listen and discuss the issue is welcome, including those who have not read the book.
